Fair Food, founded in 2011, is a well-established and respected food rescue charity
distributing to over 50 charities and community groups in Auckland.
By diverting good surplus food from landfill to feed those in need, Fair Food
addresses social and environmental issues that were among our most urgent and
concerning even before COVID struck.
During the first COVID lockdown in 2020, CarbonSix Distillery – a boutique, small
batch, craft distillery in Auckland – pivoted their business to making much needed
hand sanitiser and in 2021 produced their surface disinfectant. All up, they
generously donated over 20,000 units of sanitiser and disinfectant to Fair Food.
As well as re-distributing rescued food, Fair Food shared the CarbonSix products
to social agencies, community groups and charities across Auckland reaching
people in need and providing access to products to keep them safe as COVID
continued to re-emerge in the community.
A huge shout-out to CarbonSix and your generosity in keeping our communities
safe.
